White Salmon River

Development of the Lower White Salmon Conservation Assessment was initiated by the Underwood Conservation District (UCD).  UCD identified conservation of the project area acreage as a high priority and initiated exploration of conservation options and development of an acquisition strategy to achieve long-term protection of the approximately 200 acres of shoreline and upland habitat along the White Salmon River immediately upstream of the former Condit dam site.  Funding was awarded to Underwood Conservation District (UCD) to administer and implement this project by the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office and the Salmon Recovery Funding Board under Project #21-1244P. In January 2022, UCD contracted with Rivershed SPC to conduct specialized work involved with the assessment, including the development of this report.
